Twitterview #130 – With Jane Foriland (@janecf)

@JoelECarlson – Hello everybody, and welcome to Twitterview with @janecf as our guest today. Time for our close-up and makeup!

@janecf – Ha! Thanks! I’m excited. I’ll try to be interesting.

Q – #1    To begin @janecf, tell us, where did you grow up and where did you go to HS and college?

A:    Very proud to be born and raised in the Twin Cities. I graduated from Eden Prairie High school…

An I went to the U of M or college, though I continue to study acting to this day.

I feel blessed to have been brought up in such a vibrant theatre community

Q – #2    What kind of acting have you done? (theater, commercials, tv, etc)

A:    I primarily do theatre. That’s where my training is, but I’ve done film, commercials, industrials, print…

Really I do anything using my talents that pays the bills…that sounds bad, I mean ACTING talents.

Q – #3    I see. Have you done anything commercial or popular that some people may have seen?

A:    Possibly my vet tech commercials for Globe University, they played those a lot. In one of them I worked with a horse.

The horse kept moving without warning and terrified me.

But if I get any on camera work, it’s usually playing a high schooler.

But live theatre is definitely where I feel most at home.

Q – #4    Oh, okay. Now last week you Tweeted that you met a famous actress. Who was it and what did that mean to you?

A:    Emma Thompson! I’m still smiling about it. She has been an inspiration to me since I was a little girl.

It meant the world to me to be able to tell her how much she has influenced me. It was a dream come true.

Q – #5    That’s special! She’s a great actress. Who are some others that you look up to and appreciate their work?

A:    This could take awhile! Meryl Streep definitely. I learn so much whenever I watch her. Classic actress response I know.

I love Katherine Hepburn, Lucille Ball, Vivian Leigh, Audrey Hepburn…

Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett, Laura Linney…

How about some other interests: Favorite – restaurant, store, summer activity and movie. @Janecf #jectv

Q – #6    How about some other interests: Favorite – restaurant, store, summer activity and movie.

A:    I LOVE Rinata and @Barbette. I’m always on the lookout for great food!

Favorite store is Target. I love everything about Target, I even love the smell of Target.

Favorite summer activity is the Fringe Festival! 169 plays in 10 days. It’s like my Christmas!

I can’t really pick a favorite movie. Too many to choose from!

Q – #7    I understand! So to end today, what thought or mantra would you like to share with everyone today?

A:    I’ve got two that I live by, neither of which I came up with.

Paraphrasing Confucius: “Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” I LOVE what I do, and I’m so grateful.

The other one that I’m constantly relearning is “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle.”-Plato

@JoelECarlson – Thank you @Janecf for your time and your comments today. Have a great Monday!
