Yesterday I decided to take a poll of my Twitter followers and get their thoughts on mac-n-cheese. I got a favorable response, and so I’m going to do try to do this more frequently and then post the results to my blog. I’m going to call it Joel Patrol. Patrolling my Twitter stream and then sharing the results with others. My Tweet from was: Best mac-n-cheese you’ve ever had. Where? Here then are the responses that I received:
- @aimeecheek: Just tried @DepotMpls & super creamy + bacon! See pic http://twitpic.com/47vy6z
Its my new favorite. Super creamy & the cavatappi noodles are perfect texture plus it has BACON, which makes any dish better.
- @mattkummer: Best mac and cheese ever at Clarkston Union in Clarkston, MI.
Local cheese, penne pasta, bread crumbs, all baked. So good.
- @cafecyan: No doubt best mac-n-cheese is from @SmalleysBBQ. Which reminds me…I’m due for another visit.
They make it with roasted jalapenos and bacon. So smokey, cheesy, and yummy.
- @Amazinglygrace: Honestly? Famous Daves in Uptown. Delish!
Finely chopped jalapeños and five cheeses!
- @NickEHeim: Loved it and want it again @commonroots
- @littlepod: I hardly ever order mac and cheese at restaurants, but love @Hautedish‘s take on it.
They use this large tube noodles + king crab, tallegio, truffle – Really good.
So there is a roundup of the responses that I received to my question on where to get the best mac-n-cheese. Try one or all of them out, and see if you agree. Check back next time for a new topic or item.

Hodang, no mention of Muffaletta’s four-cheese mac mania with bread crumbs and bacon!? That takes the cake for me.
