Twitterview #150 – With Becky Ewert (@beckyewert)

@JoelECarlson – Hello everyone, and welcome to today’s Twitterview. Our guest is @BeckyEwert, so lets get things rolling shall we?

@beckyewert – I’m ready to get rolling!

Q – #1    So tell us @beckyewert, where did you grow up and what kind of schooling have you had?

A:    I grew up in a small town in southwest MN (I’m a farm girl!) and moved to St. Paul for college (Northwestern College).

I started college as a music major, but soon switched to communications/theater to pursue my love of acting.

Q – #2    I drew you to acting, and who are some of your favorite actors/actresses?

A:    It was great fun to “be” someone else and tell their story. I LOVE watching Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He’s amazing.

For actresses, Judi Dench can do no wrong in my book. I also think Kate Winslet is lovely.

Q – #3    It’s hard to think that he was in Twister though. So what kind of jobs have you had in the past, and what do you do now?

A:    Twister was an odd choice, but he was still good! Jobwise, theater was my main focus for a few years out of college…

But ultimately decided to enter the business world in the “creative” field of marketing, and l got lucky in that…

I like it and am reasonably good at it. (spoken as a true Minnesotan!) I’ve been on the agency account side…

involved in everything from branding to managing an in-house agency to my current job @MorsekodeAgency as an acct dir.

Q – #4    Lot of variety! In addition to your work, do you do any volunteering? Are you a pet person?

A:    Funny you should ask, @JoelECarlson! I AM a pet person. Proud owner of a cat (Lola) and 15-week-old puppy (Willa).

And yes, I volunteer @Animal_HumaneMN with dog adoptions. Which is funny, as I used to be not that fond of dogs. Huh.

Q – #5    That’s very nice of you. Now to your FAVS: Favorite – restaurant, store, music genre, tech gadget and summer activity.

A:    Fav restaurant is @alventompls. Great food and near my house (bonus). Fav store is @Anthropologie. Unfortunately. $

Embarrassingly, my favorite Pandora station is Hall & Oates radio, so there’s that…

Favorite tech gadget would have to be my iPhone. I’m lost without it. And summer activity would be running outside…

Which is hard to do in the LONG Minnesota winter.

Q – #6    Snow shoes? LOL! Who are some people on Twitter that you follow that you’ve benefited from connecting with?

A:    Twitter has introduced me to more people, information and knowledge than I ever thought possible…

And I sincerely feel that I’ve benefited from everyone I’ve connected with, on Twitter and in real life…

However, I’ve been fortunate to meet/chat with a few women in Minneapolis that, even though I don’t know them well…

have made an impact. That list includes @ms_rezai, @nylons, @irishgirl, @lynseystruthers, and @jenkaneco.

I also have to mention @AgencyBabylon, who I think is the first person I met IRL and is so incredibly kind/wonderful.

Q – #7    You’ve got some good people on your list, as well as @AgencyBabylon! To end, what mantra/advice would you like to share?

A:    My favorite mantra is “We laugh to survive,” because sometimes, that’s all I can do!

@JoelECarlson – Thank you for your time and comments today. Keep up the positive and helpful spirit, and enjoy your day.

@beckyewert – Thank YOU, Joel! It was an honor to be Twitterviewed by you. Enjoy your day as well!
